Karen is a certified life coach who uses the Co-Active Coaching model, an evidence-based approach emphasizing a dynamic partnership between coach and client. She helps students explore their strengths, aspirations, and areas where they might feel stuck. This comprehensive approach encourages students to develop new strategies, skills, and habits, focusing on personal growth in academic, professional, and social areas. By working from a strength-based model, Karen helps students tap into their hidden resources to build confidence and achieve their goals.
Karen graduated from the Empowering Students Through Coaching program at JST Coaching & Training, an ICF Level 1 accredited program specializing in ADHD and neurodiversity coaching. This rigorous program addresses the needs of students with ASD, ADHD, executive function challenges, and co-existing conditions. Karen is well-prepared to support neurodiverse students in recognizing their strengths and achieving their goals in an inclusive and supportive environment.
In addition to her coaching credentials, Karen has completed coursework toward a Master’s in Social Work at Fordham University and has experience in mental health counseling. She also raised two children in the Mamaroneck High School District, guiding them through Middlebury and Vanderbilt. Her love for children and personal experience as a parent inform her work. Karen combines her coaching skills, mental health awareness, and leadership experience to help clients navigate academic pressures, clarify their goals, and build the skills needed for success. She is dedicated to creating pathways to personal and academic achievement, empowering clients to take charge of their future. Karen has earned the following degrees and certifications:
