Judy is a veteran English teacher with thirty years of public education experience. She began her career in the New York City Public Schools in 1994, teaching English Language Arts to a diverse population in Canarsie, Brooklyn. In 1997, she accepted a position at a Westchester public high school, where she has taught grades 7-12 for the past twenty-seven years. For the past seventeen years, she has been the Department Chairperson at this high school, supervising upwards of 20 middle and high school English teachers and overseeing all aspects of the instructional program.
Judy has also taught at the college level at SUNY New Paltz in the secondary education program for pre-service teachers. She is motivated by a strong desire to meet every student at their instructional level to help strengthen their reading, writing, and literacy skills in English and across the curriculum. As she prepares to retire from her official teaching position in June 2024, she is excited to begin a new chapter as a professional tutor to continue her passion for helping students enjoy academic success.
