Lillian is a New York State–certified teacher and a graduate of Yale University, where she studied Cognitive Science, Economics, and Creative Writing. She is currently pursuing her MFA in Fiction at Brooklyn College as a Truman Capote Fellow and serves as an adjunct professor in the English Department, blending rigorous scholarship with engaging, student-centered instruction.
With three years of middle school classroom experience in Humanities and Math and over five years of K–12 tutoring, Lillian has worked extensively with students in ESL, English vocabulary, reading comprehension, and SAT preparation. Her excellence in teaching and writing has been recognized through multiple honors, including Yale University’s First Place Wallace Prize in Fiction and the Relay School of Education’s Intentionality Award for outstanding lesson planning and instruction.
A hallmark of Lillian’s teaching is her ability to help students learn how to learn. She specializes in study skills, Cornell Notes, time management, organization, and academic planning, empowering students with tools that extend far beyond a single subject or test.
Lillian believes that great teaching sparks curiosity, confidence, and joy in learning. She brings a project-based, experiential approach to her work—designing creative, memorable activities that make academic content come alive. Deeply committed to student success, she is especially skilled at adapting instruction for neurodiverse learners, tailoring strategies to each student’s strengths, interests, and learning style.
