Born and raised in Palo Alto, California, Luke ventured to the East Coast for two years at Harvard College before transferring to Stanford University, where he earned his B.A. in English. Since 2003, hundreds of students have worked with Luke to unlock their academic potential. An expert in SAT and ACT prep, he has coached his students to average gains of 200 points on the SAT and 4 points on the ACT. As a master college counselor, Luke is particularly proud of the students he’s helped gain admission to colleges that they thought were beyond their reach, including Stanford, UC Berkeley, Brown, and MIT, among many others.
He believes studying and college planning should feel empowering and efficient and works hard to give his students a sense of personal mastery and independence.
In addition to test preparation and college planning, Luke tutors Spanish to the most advanced levels. He began his study of Spanish in the 4th grade. In college, Luke completed independent study translating Lorca and Neruda.
